    About the ICF Credentials and Standards Global Board
    The ICF Credentials and Standards Global Board of Directors oversees and manages the International Coaching Federation’s professional certification programs for individual coach practitioners. Representing nearly 60,000 credential holders from 157 countries and territories worldwide, this diverse board promotes ethical conduct and professional excellence in the global coaching industry.  

    The ICF Credentials and Standards Board's role includes setting and supervising the organization's overarching goals, mission, strategies, and financial planning.

  • If you are included on the slate for the ICF Credentials and Standards Board, the information and materials you share in this application (including but not limited to your CV/résumé, headshot and responses to questions) may be used by the Nominating Committee and ICF Credentials and Standards Board in making their final determinations.

    Because of this, we encourage you to refrain from sharing any sensitive and/or confidential information in your responses to the following application questions. 

  • ICF is seeking your express consent to have your personal information stored in our systems and to receive information regarding the ICF Global Board election process.

    The information you provide will be used for the express purposes of administering the nomination/election process and communicating with you about your application status.

    If you are not elected to the ICF Credentials and StandardsBoard of Directors, your application materials will be deleted from our system two (2) years after the conclusion of the election. Any of your personal data associated with your application (including but not limited to your name, email address, telephone number and Credential status) will remain in our system for the duration of your affiliation with ICF as a Member and/or Credential-holder.

    If you are elected to the ICF Credentials and Standards Board of Directors, your application materials and the products that result from them (including but not limited to website copy, slide decks and ICF public relations and marketing materials) will remain in our system in perpetuity. The resulting products may be used to promote ICF and its mission to ICF Members and other stakeholders.

    This information may also be used to meet ICF’s legal and regulatory obligations.

    I understand that more generally ICF handles data in accordance with its Privacy Policy here: ICF Privacy Policy and I confirm that I have read that policy and in particular understand that the data I have submitted may be transferred outside of my home jurisdiction.

  • Board Member Foundation Donation


    As part of the leadership commitment associated with Board service, individuals selected to join the ICF Board are expected to make a personal contribution to the ICF Foundation annually upon appointment. Any amount, no matter how small, is sincerely appreciated. Participation from all Board members is a meaningful reflection of our shared values and support for the Foundation’s mission.

  • Please Note: Applicants may only apply for one ICF Global Board position per year. Also, individuals may only serve on one ICF Global Board at any given time.

  • In addition to the previous list of capabilities and experiences, the below have been identified as being necessary for successful service on the ICF Credentials and Standards Board:

    • Working Knowledge of Competencies
    • Assessor/Mentor Experience
    • Previous Experience in Coach Development
    • Knowledge or Experieince with Global Standards for Certification Practice (ISO 17024 or NCCA Standards)
    • Open Minded to a Variety of Ideas and Policy Options
    • Ability to Focus on High-Level Policy and Performance Standards
    • Familiarity with certification practices and/or psychometric measurement
